Draw with the ink left behind — what you draw has weight, it tips, it swings, it can be eaten — cross the gaps the artist never finished, and reach the small warm light at the far end of the paper.
Ink Left (余墨) is a minimalist black-and-white physics puzzle game about drawing lines, made by the independent studio ShengyuStudio. It launches on Steam for Windows PC in March 2027. You play a half-drawn stick figure crossing 22 pages in 4 sketchbooks, drawing with 7 kinds of line — Line, Spring, Rope, Float, Weight, Phase and Weapon — and everything you draw has weight.
Line, spring, rope, float, weight, phase, blade. Anchor a line at both ends and it is a bridge; anchor one end and it falls into a drawbridge, a seesaw, a wall.
Erase a line you drew and every drop comes back, so trying is free. Ink is only truly lost to lines left behind, ink thorns, beasts and water.
Still short? Hold right-click on your own arm or leg and turn it back into ink. One hand fewer, shorter strokes. One leg fewer, lower jumps.
Crossed-out sketches come alive: a wolf that rams every line you draw, a dragon that burns through walls, a shark that eats your bridges bite by bite. All three can be killed.
Every page has an idea of its own, and the terrain shuts down one-trick solutions. No solution hints — only control hints. Stuck? Think with a different line.
Only two colors: the ink, and the light at the end. The pen changes pitch with your stroke, and every image and sound is generated in code. Dog-eared corners save your progress.
